Adoptive T-Cell Therapy:
A New Approach to Cancer Treatment
Targeted Individualised Immunotherapy Using Vaccine-Induced T Cells — Phase I Study
What is this clinical trial?
This Phase I investigator-initiated study explores a novel form of immunotherapy called Adoptive T-Cell Therapy. Unlike many experimental treatments, this approach uses your own immune system's natural defences to target cancer cells.
The therapy is being developed at Krankenhaus Nordwest in Frankfurt am Main, building on over 25 years of pioneering research into antigen-specific T-cell responses for solid tumours.
How does it work?
Vaccination
You receive a personalised cancer vaccine to activate your immune system's T lymphocytes against tumour-specific antigens.
Isolation & Expansion
Activated T cells are carefully isolated from your blood and expanded in the laboratory over several weeks.
Reinfusion
The expanded T cells are reinfused into your body — without any genetic modification — to seek and destroy cancer cells.

Your Research Lead
Prof. Dr. med. Elke Jäger
Prof. Dr. Jäger is an internationally recognised oncologist and immunotherapy researcher. She leads the Department of Oncology and Haematology at Krankenhaus Nordwest and has dedicated over two decades to advancing personalised cancer immunotherapy. Her work has been instrumental in establishing Frankfurt as a leading centre for tumour immunology research.
